THE funeral of a young Brantry father who died as a result of a tragic shooting incident in Dungannon on Friday is to be laid to rest today (Tuesday).
Patrick Hughes, who was aged in his 20s, died after entering B-Moore's Salon, which is located on the Carland Road, armed with a shotgun at around 4.15pm on Friday past.

It is understood that he ordered staff and customers out of the second-floor salon before turning the weapon on himself in front of his girlfriend, named locally as Sinead McAnallen.
Mr Hughes, who was from the Derrylappin Road area of Brantry, was a father-of-one and is believed to have been the youngest of six children.
He is survived by his parents Patsy and Kathleen, son Austin, girlfriend Sinead, sisters Lorraine, Fiona and Helen and brothers Christopher and Ruairi, to whom deepest sympathy is extended.
Funeral Mass for the deceased is due to be held today at 11am at St Joseph's Church, Caledon with interment immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr Hughes was a former pupil of St Ciaran's in Ballygawley and is believed to have worked for an engineering firm while also helping out on the family farm.
Sinn Fein councillor Phelim Gildernew, a neighbour of the Hughes family, described Mr Hughes as a quiet and hard-working man.
He commented: "Patrick was a quiet, hard-working lad. It is a total tragedy and my sympathies are with the Hughes family and also the young woman at this terrible time.
“This is a close-knit community and people are just stunned by what has happened."
Ulster Unionist Party leader Tom Elliott also expressed his condolences to the family.
“The Dungannon community was extremely shocked to learn that a young man lost his life in a shooting incident in the Carland Road area on Friday afternoon," he stated.
“I would like to express my deepest condolences to the family and friends of the young man at this awful time."
Fermanagh and South Tyrone MLA Lord Maurice Morrow described the incident as a "real tragedy" and offered his condolences to the Hughes family.
