Television show focuses on Tyrone woman accused of property scam

A TYRONE woman has been thrust into the spotlight this week in a programme investigating her alleged involvement in a Spanish property scam.
Bernie McGeary, believed to be from the White City area of Dungannon originally, is under investigation by the PSNI for her alleged role in the scam and an international warrant for her arrest is currently being sought.
McGeary became the focus of UTV's Insight programme on Monday night after countless families and individual investors, including a prominent Dungannon businessman, lost tens of thousands of pounds allegedly at her hands.
People bought properties from McGeary and paid half the cash up front but never saw their holiday home or money again.
Appearing on Insight on Monday night, IT Consultant Philip Hanvey told programme makers: "If it can happen to me it can happen to anyone, the rule has to be that you must have legal advice; you must not depend on personalities."
McGeary refused to make any comment to the Insight team.
