A THIRD man has been charged in connection with a shooting in Cookstown five months ago.

Twenty-six-year-old Connair Bloomer, of Drum Road, appeared before Dungannon Magistrate's Court yesterday morning, Monday, charged with attempted murder over a gun attack on a man.

The 35-year-old victim was shot in the legs on 5th June when two men wearing balaclavas entered a house in the Drumcree area of Cookstown.

Bloomer was also charged with aggravated burglary and having a gun in suspicious circumstances.

Two other men have been previously charged in connection with the case.

Mark Hay of Beechway, Cookstown is charged with attempted murder, possession of a firearm, threatening to kill a female and entering a house as a trespasser armed with a firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

A further co-accused is Dominic Leo Peter McGrath (39) of Derryowen Place, Coalisland who faces a charge of intimidating a female witness.
