Wednesday, 22 March 2017
CLOGHER ARMAGH U18 ladies have reached the cup semi final after beating Enniskillen.
Clogher Armagh U18 Ladies...19
Enniskillen U18 Ladies...7
This was the third encounter between these teams this season, with Clogher/Armagh taking the spoils in both league matches.
Enniskillen, however, did not read the script and came out of the block faster than home side.
Enniskillen's Ellie Ingram took the ball just inside the home side's half and ran around the Clogher/Armagh defence to score the opening try, converted by Jessica Elliott.
With just over five minutes to go to half time, the light switch came on for Clogher/Armagh.
They started running hard close to the ruck, Enniskillen cleared their lines, only for Katie Burns to catch the ball outside the 22 and run in their first try, converted by Valley's Jenna Wright. At half time, the teams were level at 7-7.
The second half started the same as the first finished, with Clogher/Armagh spreading the ball wide and putting Enniskillen's defence to the test.
Grace Shrestha then drove over to double Clogher / Armagh's try count.
Lucy Somerville at out half organised the backs and with 10 minutes to go, the ball was spread wide and, following a series of rucks, Emma McCreary dived over to score Clogher/Armagh's third try, converted by Jenna Wright.
Clogher/Armagh took the spoils again with a 19 points to 7 win, but this was a much improved Enniskillen team who made the game a competitive encounter.
Clogher/Armagh now take on the League Champions, Virginia in the semi final.
