It encompasses three main towns, Dunagannon, Cookstown and Magherafelt.

The commander in charge of the district is Superintendent Mike Baird.

Speaking about the cost he said: "The PSNI constantly reviews the resources it uses to ensure that Public safety is maintained and criminal activity is effectivyl challenged.

“Additional resources can be allocated to specific areas of the business at any given time.

“Overtime budgets provide a flexible way to manage increases in demand for officers required for specific policing operations."

Communities living in Mid-Ulster are served by two Local Policing Teams (LPTs), based in Magherafelt and Dungannon Police Stations.

The PSNI state that these stations provide 24-hour cover to continue keeping people safe. These LPTs are supported by three Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPTs) based in Cookstown, Magherafelt and Clogher Policing Stations. NPTs are mobile units deployed to areas to deal with what Police determine are "critical issues".
