Lisa band musicians hurt in Augher crash thumbnailThe aftermath of the early morning crash in Augher in which two members of Country star Lisa McHugh’s band were injured.

TWO members of country star Lisa McHugh's band have been injured in a serious car crash in Augher as they returned home from a gig at the weekend.

Drummer Simon Sheeran (30) and guitarist Daniel Martin (25) were hurt after their black Mercedes car was involved in a collision with an Audi A4 early on Sunday.

The accident occurred shortly after 3am on the Augher Road as the pair drove home to Enniskillen in a convoy of cars carrying Lisa, her band and her staff.

The injured musicians were ferried to Craigavon Area Hospital by ambulance for emergency medical treatment.

Lisa, who regularly plays concerts to adoring fans in Tyrone, stayed at the hospital with her bandmates and cancelled a gig on Sunday night in Tipperary because of the crash.

Police confirmed two people were taken to hospital after the crash and described one of those hurt as having "serious injuries".

Lisa's Cookstown-based manager Brian Jordan said their thoughts and prayers went out to their injured friends.

He added that the musicians' injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

“Lisa came across the crash on the way home and went to hospital with the two musicians. She was very distressed, shocked and concerned for them and stayed until she knew they were going to be OK."
