THE Chair of Mid-Ulster District Council, Councillor Kim Ashton has praised the partnership working between the local community in Aughnacloy and local statutory agencies which has resulted in a new 3G pitch for the area.

"The work to bring a new 3G pitch to Aughnacloy has been an example of how local communities and local statutory agencies can work together effectively to develop a facility which will have so many benefits for so many local people.

"I'm delighted to see the first sod cut and the contractor on site, and look forward to watching progress in the weeks to come."
