SLIPPER, a local dog, has become a star after making his acting debut on episode three of the hit TV series 'Derry Girls'.

The 12 year old canine appeared on the screen when he played the Toto, leading the cast on a chase before an exam.

Andrea Cowan, from Loughall, is the proud owner of Slipper.

She said that Slipper became a star after she was contacted  to see if she would have any dogs that would suit Toto's character.

Andrea told the Courier Slipper is also talented in tricks and was perfect for the doggie role.

Andrea adds that the cast and crew of 'Derry Girls' were wonderful.

Andrea is a volunteer at Gun Dog Rescue and Rehoming, a rehoming shelter in Dunmurry.

The shelter also trains and rehomes dogs to people who suffer disabilities and stress.
