A son of Johnny and Noeleen and brother of Toni, Moygashel, Barrie, of The Hollows, Lurgan, is also survived by wife Emma and children Alex, Charlotte and Alfie, to whom sincere sympathy is extended.
A lifelong supporter of Dungannon Swifts Football Club, Barrie and his family attended the Swifts' Irish League Cup Final match against Ballymena United last month and saw his son lead out the teams as a mascot on Cup Final day, with Dungannon Swifts going on to win the Irish League Cup.
Dungannon Swifts Football Club paid tribute to Barrie on their website: "Barrie Meneely was the life and soul of every game as a supporter of Dungannon Swifts Football Club.
“He enjoyed the banter with home and away fans and many people will recognise him even if they didn't know him."
The Club spoke of Barrie's pride when his son was mascot at the Bet McLean Irish League Cup Final: "This was an extremely proud moment for Barrie and his wife Emma, watching their wee man beaming with pride.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends, especially to his wife Emma and three children, Alex, Charlotte and Alfie and to his father Johnny who attended all Swifts games with him, his mother Noeleen and sister Toni."
