Killymoon Rangers.....5 Castle Star........4 KILLYMOON Rangers have moved within just one point of league title glory after beating one of their nearest challengers in a dramatic, goal-filled clash.
The Cookstown men notched up a thrilling 5-4 win against Castle Star, coming from behind on three occasions to win, gaining revenge for last week's Linda Welshman Cup final defeat to the same opposition.
And the win now puts huge distance between them and the teams below, with their nearest challengers being Cookstown Youth, Castle Star and Clough Rangers.
Goals from Richard Donaghy, Warren Smith, Stuart Donaghy, Jamie O'Neill and Stefan Shields secured all three points.
Coming from 2-0 down, they pulled it back to 2-2, then again coming from 3-2 down and 4-3 down to win late on.
It was a very determined and gritty performance by a team who are now jusy one point away from league glory.
Killymoon have two away games left, against Clough Rangers and Cookstown Youth.
"Thanks again must go to the supporters who have been excellent all year", said a club spokesman.
“We're very close to offically winning the league, but we have to stay focused until the job is 100 per cent done."
Man of the match on the day, sponsored by the White Pheasant and picked by the supporters was Eoin Coyle.
