DUNGANNON Swifts boss Dixie Robinson has called on supporters to get behind the team as they aim for a place in the Co-operative Insurance Cup Final.
His team go head-to-head with Coleraine tonight, Wednesday, at the Oval, Belfast in battle for a place in the 27th March showpiece final.
And Robinson is hoping that a bumper crowd will cheer his team to victory over the Bannsiders.
“The main thing is that we get a good support behind us," said Dixie. "We have shown before that we can attract large crowds and I know that a lot are planning to travel down for the game. It makes such a difference when the crowd gets behind you."
Robinson will be without several key players for the tie but he believes that his team have every chance of progressing. New arrivals Chris Morgan and Jimmy Callacher are both cup-tied while Ryan Mullan picked up an injury during Saturday's warm-up which will also rule him out tonight.
Missing also is Neil McCafferty who will serve the first of a two match ban but Robinson has long been planning for life without the creative midfielder. McCafferty had issued a transfer request but no deal was done by close of play in the transfer window so he will remain a Swifts player. It's the same story too for defender Adam McMinn.
But despite the absentees, Robinson is confident of a win. "Along with Coleraine, ourselves and Cliftonville are probably the three teams that have really excelled this year," he said.
“I have every belief that we can win tonight and make it into the final. Coleraine had a tremendous win against Glentoran on Saturday which didn't surprise me but we had an excellent win ourselves at Crusaders."
While Dungannon endured a nail-biting end to their game which dramatically finished 3-2 in favour of the Swifts, Coleraine enjoyed a 4-3 win over Glentoran. Both teams will be full of confidence which should mean a cracker of a game.
The winners will play the victors of the Portadown vs Glentoran game played last night, Tuesday. Tonight's match kicks-off at the Oval at 7.45pm.
