Swifts prepare for Scottish trip

DUNGANNON Swifts will be heading to Scotland later this month for a pre-season tournament involving two Scottish sides and fellow Irish League club Coleraine.
And for Swifts fans hoping to make the journey, there is a special rate offered on the ferry. Stenaline are offering a special deal of £40 return per person for any Swifts supporters wishing to attend the tournament.
The £40 will include your entry fee to all matches. Dungannon Swifts supporters will be leaving Dungannon at around 9.45am on 17th July for the 11.45am boat to Stranraer. This will enable them to be there for 5.30pm to see the game between Stranraer FC and Dungannon Swifts.
The boat home from Stranraer will leave at 7.55pm on Sunday, 18th July.
Any supporters intending on travelling to the game are asked to please notify Cheryl Gilmore or Judith Reid (07760214709) before this Friday, 9th July, as they are organising travel arrangements for supporters. Accommodation should be sorted out individually.
The tournament will take place at Stranraer Football Club's ground, Stair Park, and will consist of two semi-finals taking place on Saturday, 17th July and the final on Sunday 18th July. The four teams are Dungannon Swifts, Coleraine, Stranraer and Glenafton Athletic.
Liverpool game
Meanwhile, tickets for the glamour friendly at home to a Liverpool XI are selling extremely well. Supporters are reminded that tickets for the August 12 match are still available at various outlets in the town.
Swifts boss Dixie Robinson says that he is looking forward to welcoming the Anfield outfit to Stangmore Park. Liverpool have promised that first team players will be play some part in the game.
New signings
As revealed in last week's Tyrone Courier, Johnny Topley and Niall Henderson were confirmed as Dungannon Swifts players when they put pen to paper with the Stangmore Park club on Monday night.
