Fishing trip for Dungannon angler has a silver lining!

Success at the double: Dungannon angler Ian Martin with the first fresh run salmon of 2012 caught on the River Drowes in Co. Leitrim.
DUNGANNON angler Ian Martin has done it again, banking the first fresh run salmon of 2012 from the River Drowes in County Leitrim for the second successive year.
Unfortunately for Ian, his bar of silver, this time around, was not also the first rod caught Irish salmon of the new season.
That honour went to Declan Briggs who landed an 8.5lb fish at 9.50am on opening day at Islandbridge on Dublin's River Liffey.
For the record, Ian's fish weighed in at 8lbs and was taken on a Collie Dog fly from the Blackwater Pool shortly after mid-day. This was the same Pool from which he grassed his fish last year!
Eighty anglers turned out on the day, casting a line in high water conditions but at least the weather was mild for these hardy souls.
