Supertwins class is on the way up!

Ryan Farquhar, leading contender in the Supertwins class. SC0393
IT wasn't long ago that the Supertwins class was introduced, but was regarded as a "Clubmans " type class. That was until local road racers Ryan Farquhar and John Burrows joined the class. Since then it has continued to grow and grow.
This class had been bought to the attention of the MCUI many years ago, but was put on the back burner. Today it is one of the best supported classes!
Thanks to the input to various organisers, Ryan Farquhar has succeeded in getting the class recognised at both the NW200 and the IOM TT!.
The inclusion of the SuperTwins 650 class at the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT this year has caught the attention of some of the sport's so-called bigger names!
Local rider Farquhar has long championed the benefits of the class and will start as one of the big favourites at both events, but he will first have to overcome tougher opposition to lift the prize money.
Several top names are expected to enter the Supertwins races on the international stage this season and already the signs are that there will be significant interest in the class with the prospect of some big names entering the race on Thursday, May 17!
Fellow local, John Burrows, who, like Ryan, has been a front runner in this class, is the current Irish Road Race Champion and will also be looking for a top result.
Already there is some top names being talked about and don't be surprised if you see a former GP rider taking to the grid on board a Supertwin at the NW200!
Last year, the official Honda Legends team missed the North West due to a date clash with a round of the World Endurance Championship, but They are confirmed to be on the grid this year. Legends will consist of John McGuinness and Gary Johnston .

After a gap of 44 years since the sound of cars racing at the Bishopscourt Racing Circuit, I am delighted to announce that the management of Bishopscourt Racing Circuit have agreed in principal with the MSA (the governing body of Motor Racing) and the Association of Northern Ireland Car Clubs for the return of car racing to Bishopscourt
The race meeting is scheduled to take place on Saturday and Sunday May 12/13. The race meeting will feature all the main classes currently racing in Ireland and will be promoted by Leinster Motor Club, who incidentally organised the last car racing event held at the track in 1968.
In 1992 the circuit was bought and made into a permanent motorsports facility and in 2001 the present owner took over the site and made massive improvements to the layout and safety of the circuit. In 2011 the complete resurfacing of the track was finished, giving three alternative layouts.
