COALISLAND middleweight Conrad 'Dynamite' Cummings will fight for his first professional title this Friday night at Wembley Arena.

The 25-year-old faces German Ronnie Mittag in an IBF Inter-Continental title fight this Friday night in London, on a card headlined by George Groves.

This will be the stiffest test of Conrad's abilities and ring craft yet, but the undefeated Cyclone Promotions stableman is confident he will pick up his 11th win from his 12th fight.

“This guy is two or three steps up from what I have been fighting previously," Conrad told the Courier.

“I want to make a big statement and if I win this I'll be in the top 15 middleweights in the world.

“For other fights, no disrespect to my opponents, but it's almost as if I knew I was going to win

“I know if I'm not on the top of my game for this fight though, I'll not win.

“But I will be on the top of my game.

“If I win, it'll be a nice way to round off 2017, with a nice shiny belt around my waist.

“Hopefully I'll be bringing the belt back to Coalisland and I'm sure I will."

In previous fights, Conrad has gone all out at times in an attempt to knock his opponent out, a tactic which hasn't always worked.

And Conrad says he will be more measured this time around.

“My problem in the past has been that I was looking for a knockout too fast.

“I've trained for 12 rounds and there's a large chance it'll go for 12 rounds, but if I hit him clean I could well knock him out.

“It's been a hard couple of months in camp, but it's been good getting myself prepared mentally and physically, I have enjoyed it.

“I've had a bit more of a methodical approach to this camp and I'm confident it'll pay off."

Conrad's fight this Friday night, 18th November, will be available to watch on Spike TV, with Conrad expected to hit the ring between 7.30 and 8pm.
