McCrory eyeing up fourth pro win

Wednesday, 1 February 2017

BRACKAVILLE boxer Feargal McCrory is getting ready for his fourth professional fight this weekend.

The 24-year-old former Clonoe ABC fighter who now lives in Pomeroy will take on Gyula Tallosi at the Europa Hotel this Saturday, 4 February.

And the fight will be ideal preparation for Feargal's next fight, an International Challenge Title fight on 22 April.

Coached by John Breen, Feargal made his pro debut in November 2015 and has won his three fights so far, including one knockout.

And he says he is after a second knock out this weekend when he takes on his Hungarian fighter.

Not much is known about Tallosi as there are few videos of him available online, but Feargal says he has an idea of how to go about the clash.

He says: "He's a tough journeyman and he's had a lot of fights, but we've heard he's weak around the body, so we are hoping to work on the body shots and pick up a stoppage.

"We have had a number of sparring partners so we have got prepared for plenty of eventualities.

"I can't wait for the fight and I'm just looking forward to weighing in this week."

Feargal is competing at lightweight this weekend, but plans to drop down to super featherweight following this fight and it is at that level he will be fighting for his first professional title in April.

"I can't reveal the name of the fighter yet on that date," says Feargal, "but he's highly thought of but we feel confident about it."

Feargal is also confident about this Saturday night and has thanked a number of sponsors from whom he has received support, including PK Murphy, Set Build NI, Hagan's Bar and Fortress Fitness.
