Bullseye for Smith in Ballynakelly thumbnailThe 2016/17 Premier Darts League Champion Christopher Smith. MW1355

IT WAS a great weekend for Christopher Smith as he took the honours in the top four play-off as the dart season came to a close in Ballynakelly Working Men's Club.
Having beaten William Bradley in the semi-finals 4-1, Christopher didn't get it all his own way in the final against Craig Mullen, who had a tough 4-3 win in his semi-final match against league winner and last season's top four winner Ashley Dobson.
The final went all the way, with some great darts from both players but Christopher snatched the victory by 5-4 in the deciding leg.
McCammon claims 'best of the rest' win
Philip McCammon claimed victory in the best of the rest tournament with a 3-1 win over Philip Harris in the final.
Harris, who had beaten Kris Nicholl 3-1 in a hard fought battle in the last four, took the first leg, but McCammon upped his game and, with the help of two 180s on the night, secured the victory.
However, he didn't have it all his own way in his semi-final match against Gary Boyd, having to come from 2-0 down to take the win 3-2.
A big thank you must go out to all the players who took part in this season's league, and a special mention must go out to organiser John Smith.
