MID-ULSTER District Council has held a reception to mark the 35th birthday of the First Royal Cookstown Northern ireland Supporters' Club.

It was held at Cookstown Council Offices, hosted by the Council Chair, Cllr Trevor Wilson.

Speaking about the reception, Cllr Wilson said: "Supporters are the lifeblood of any team, and when you have a club like the First Royal Northern Ireland Supporters' Club marking its 35th anniversary, that is something to be celebrated.

“I am a life-long supporter myself of the team, as well as a founder member of the Cookstown supporters club, so this reception held a personal significance for me too."
