Swifts miss out on top target to replace departing hitman

IT'S back to the drawing board for Dungannon Swifts in their attempts to bring in a replacement for departing sharpshooter Andrew Mitchell after Mark McAllister agreed a move to Crusaders.
The attacker is leaving Portadown after the Shamrock Park side suffered relegation to the Championship.
Dungannon had been hopeful of signing the striker who made his name with the Swifts a decade ago, but they were unable to compete with the former champions' financial muscle.
Andrew Mitchell, the Premiership's top scorer this season, is leaving for Mid-Ulster rivals Glenavon at the end of the season, leaving a sizeable gap up top.
He will play his final game for the club this week, his last appearance for the club coming either last night (Monday) against Ballymena United in the European play-off semi final or this Friday in a potential play-off final against either Glenavon or Cliftonville.
The clash with Ballymena took place after the Courier had gone to press.
