Street League to stretch through Mid-Ulster area thumbnailChair of Mid-Ulster District Council, Councillor Trevor Wilson helps Mid Ulster Sports Arena staff to get the ball rolling on this year’s McConnell Intersport Mid--Ulster Street League tournament.

THE kick-off of the 2017 McConnell Intersport Mid-Ulster Street League has been announced by Mid-Ulster District Council.

This year sees a change to the previous Street League format, as in addition to the usual Street League fixtures open to teams of non-registered/recreational football players, a new 'Super League' will take place, allowing existing football players to enter in their own division.

The tournament, sponsored by McConnell's Intersport, Cookstown, runs at a later date from Saturday, 15 July to Wednesday, 9 August, with all group games played within the Mid-Ulster District Council area, including sites in Cookstown, Dungannon and Magherafelt.

The semi-finals and finals will be played at the Mid Ulster Sports Arena in Cookstown.

All games will have a 7.30pm kick off from Monday to Friday and a 2.30pm kick off on Saturdays.

The fixture calendar will be announced at Mid Ulster Sports Arena on Tuesday, 20 June at 7pm.

This year the number of teams is strictly limited to just 16 and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Forms can be downloaded from, or picked up from any Council sports facility.

The deadline for the receipt of completed entry forms is Friday, 9 June at 4pm.
