Magnificent double at Knockhill thumbnailKeith Farmer with a magnificent double at Knockhill last weekend.

HAVING recently been given a ride for the remainder of the season in the British 600 Supersport Championship with Robin Appleyards race team, Clogher rider Keith Farmer returned the signing with a magnificent double at Knockhill at the weekend.

In the opening race, the Clogher Bullet led home fellow country men, Andrew Irwin, Jack Kenndy and David Allingham, whilst on Sunday, Farmer left it till the final corner before making a brave move, slipping inside Irwin, who had led from the drop of the flag, but lost to the Flying Farmer who had made a sluggish start.

Farmer's winning margin was a mere 0.101 seconds.

With series leader Tarran Makenzie off to Moto 2, the race is now on for the leadership in this class. Farmer is only 27 points adrift, with Allingham just two points behind Keith!.

Josh Elliot got a call to deputise for the injured Ian Hutchinson in the Superstock race, and despite not been on a race bike for eight months, took 5th in race one, but was unlucky to crash out in race two, uninjured.

Jordan McCord was a busy man at Knockhill, with the KTM class getting four races!

The Cookstown rider qualified in 6th place, before going on to take 5th in the opening race. Race two saw him take 6th spot, but he was a non finisher in his third outing. A poor start in the final race saw Jordan work his way through to finish 8th.

Mondello Park will once again be the venue as the Masters Superbike Championship title chase continues on June 24 and 25.

The event will once again also count for Irish National Championship points.

Local riders will be in action including Stephen McAdoo, Cameron Dawson, Rookie Gary McCoy and Dean Campbell.

Also on this weekend will be the second running of the Enniskillen Bike show.
