THE sun shone brightly on Anthony Cush's Captain's Day at Dungannon Golf Club.

Anthony was on hand to welcome golfers and his wife Carol, God-daughter Ciara and the Lady Captain Lorraine helped to hand out refreshments to the weary players on the 8th tee.

The Honorary Secretary, Sean McGrath, opened proceedings by welcoming everyone to Captain's Day.

Anthony began by thanking everyone for attending, for making the day so special and for creating many lifetime memories for him and his family.

He thanked his friends in the Tyrone Crystal Golf Society for surprising him that morning with the gift of a Powakaddy trolley and golf bag and he also thanked all of his guests for playing in his competitions.

Anthony expressed thanks to the Council of Dungannon Golf Club; since taking on the daunting role of Captain he said that he found the Council welcoming and very supportive.

He thanked the Honorary Secretary, Sean McGrath, for his assistance throughout his time in office. He also thanked Briege McQuaid and Anne Coulter for decorating the prize table, Ann and Carole, for their administrative support, especially during the past week, and also the Lady Captain Lorraine Wilson and Alison Chestnutt for their help throughout the day.

Without the help of Competitions Secretary Sean Coary, Alastair and Oisin in the shop and Alistair Soye who carried out the role of starter, the day's competition wouldn't have gone so smoothly.

The President, Joe Cavlan, in turn thanked Anthony for organising such an enjoyable day.

Both Joe and Anthony thanked Alistair Brown and his team of greenkeepers for having the course in such fantastic condition, along with Shane and his team in the restaurant for serving food all day and then producing a delicious meal in the evening, and Denis and his bar staff were thanked for serving refreshments throughout the day and night.

Anthony, assisted by his wife Carol, presented prizes to the following:
