McCann and Moore are Kings

Wednesday, 3 January 2018

CONGRATS goes out to Conrad Mc Cann and Nathan Moore who put on a fine display to become Scotch Doubles champions of 2017 when they beat Chris Beattie and Fergal Quinn 4-1 in what was a great final.

McCann and Moore started off well by taken the 1st frame which looked like Beattie and Quinn where in control until Chris just ran too far on the last red to leave himself out of position which cost them the 1st frame.

They did however respond well in the 2nd to level the match with an 8 ball clearance to keep their hopes alive.

Frame 3 started off tactial but Chris and Fergal took on a risky finish and ended up out of position on the black. Conrad then played a good snooker in which Chris failed to get out off which left the Ardboe men with two shots which they made full use of to get their 1st 8ball of the final.

Frame 4 Mc Cann and Moore looked really focused and pulled out a good 6 ball finish to go one frame away from been champions.

In frame 5 Chris and Fergal again decided to commit to what was a difficult finish but young Quinn missed a tough last yellow which hung over the pocket. Mc Cann then left Beattie in all sorts of bother as he tried to get out of the snooker which left Conrad and Nathan with two shots to clear the 8 remaining balls which they took very well under the circumstances in which was a great final.

Once again we would like to thank the Roadside Tavern Stewartstown for been fanastic hosts and presenting the prizes to the winners and the runners up.
