THERE was a very big entry for the Harry Elliott Construction Grand Prix held in Tullanisken Hall with an entry of 32 players.

All players went into groups of four and the top two went into a straight Open knockout competition.

Those in third place went into the Mixed competition and 4th in group went into the "A" Singles competition.

In the quarter finals Mark McAllister beat Randolph Loney in 4 sets.

Tiago Souto beat teammate Richard Black in 4 sets

Des Flanagan beat Barry Dickson in 5 sets after losing the first 2

Alex Bartusik beat Stevie Turkington in 3 straight sets.

In the first semi Mark McAllister beat Tiago Souto 7-11, 11-8, 11-6 and 11-7.

In second semi Alex Bartusik beat Des Flanagan 11-8, 11-6, and 11-4.

In the final it was a battle all the way between Mark and Alex. Mark eventually winning the 5 setter 11-6, 7-11, 11-6, 3-11 and 11-9. This was as good an Open final as I have seen in Tullanisken Hall.

In the Mixed competition Fran White beat his Club mate Simon Gough Omagh club in the first semi in 3 straight sets. In second semi Mark McLean beat Bert McCloy in 5 sets.This is always a hard fought battle between these 2 players every time they meet. In the Final Fran White Omagh Beat Mark McLean Tullanisken in 3 straight sets 11-7, 11-5 and 11-9.

In the "A" Singles Joe Maguire beat Mark Thompson in 3 straight sets in first semi. David Scott beat Ian McCaskie in 3 straight sets in the second semi.

In the Final David was too strong for Joe and beat him 11-7, 11-1 and 11-7.

On the Saturday night it was the turn of the Junior`s. In the under 17 open

Conor White Omagh beat his club mate Tom Cunningham in the first semi. In the second semi Oran Bennett beat his brother Aiden. In the  final Oran beat Conor. In the consolation final Keader Timothy beat Chris Monaghan in 3 straight sets 13-11, 11-3 and 11-8.

In the under 14 boys Oran Bennett beat Conor White in first semi and Troy Lucas beat Aiden McGivern in second semi. In the final Oran beat his club mate Troy to make it a double on the night.

The U12 Boys saw 2 St Anne`s players take on 2 Craigavon players in the semi finals. Troy Lucas beat Noaa Jamison in first semi and Eli McKirgan beat Aiden McGovern in second semi. In the final Troy beat his club mate Eli in 3 straight sets. Josh Hickman beat Charlie Stinson in the consolation Final.

Under 12 Girls. A small turnout for this tournament. Grace Taylor beat Emily Stinson in the Final
