ON MONDAY, 26 February the Captain, Anthony Cush, welcomed members to the 129th Annual General Meeting of Dungannon Golf Club.

After a minute's silence in memory of members who had passed away during the previous year, the business of adopting reports took place.

Then Anthony spoke of how he had enjoyed his year as Captain. He was proud to say that the Club is moving in the right direction, having reduced borrowings, kept membership fees the same over the past three years, taken ownership of course maintenance and recently opened a new swing room - the SkyTrak Studio.

He thanked Council and the members for their part in making Dungannon a successful golf club and thanked the greens staff for keeping the course in excellent condition.

He also expressed his gratitude to the staff in the bar and restaurant for their hard work and for making the clubhouse so welcoming and he thanked the golf shop staff for their hard work too.

Keith Willis thanked Anthony on behalf of the Club for his efforts throughout 2017.

Incoming Captain, Ivan Kerr, said that he was honoured to be Captain and he was looking forward to the year ahead. He encouraged members to support the Club and he thanked Anthony for his advice and help.

He then introduced Kieran Hagan as his Vice-Captain.

Kieran said that he was privileged to be asked to hold this office and assured the Captain of his assistance throughout the year.

Spring League:

THE weather cleared long enough at the start of last week to allow Dungannon's ladies to complete the penultimate week of the Spring League.

Team Wren led, with nine out of 10 members recording scores and congratulations to Jayne Henry, who, for the third time recorded 'Best Individual' with 18 points.

Week 6 Results:
1st: Wren 61 - 4pts;
2nd=: Lark and Robin 46 - 3pts;
4th: Song Thrush 44 - 1pt.
