DUNGANNON Kickboxing Club brothers in arms Mark and Johnny Kerr will both fight on a card in Scotland chasing titles next month.

The Courier reported exclusively last month that Mark Kerr will fight for a world title on the card in Wishaw on Saturday, 21st April.

And now it has just been confirmed that his younger brother, Johnny, (pictured) will contest a Celtic title fight in the support to brother Mark's main event fight.

The fight will also act as an eliminator for a British title challenge.

Mark, who lives in Ballygawley, and Bush resident Johnny are both trained by Stuart Kirk, Head Coach of Dungannon Kickboxing Club Fitness Gym (DKC), based in Killyman.

Previously an NI champion and British title contender, Johnny took time out from the sport but is now back in the ring and is targeting a championship winning return.

He will be taking Darren Connolly on over five two minute rounds.

His will be the support act to Mark's world title fight.

Mark turned professional a few months ago and is aiming to be a world champion, tackling opponent Ryan Lyle, a former world champion for the vacant title.

And Head Coach Stuart Kirk says it's a very exciting time for both him and his fighters.

"It's a big thing and a big sporting event for a club from a small town to have a fella competing for a professional world title," he says.

"This is the biggest kickboxing organisation in the world and to get this shot is a dream come true.

"Lyle is a very good fighter. He has excellent movement, hits hard and is very difficult to hit himself.

"I'm still studying him and finding out what we think are his weak spots.

"He's really good but Mark Kerr is going to beat him." Hard work is the order of the day and Stuart says that in his three decades in the sport he has never had a fighter "put in a training camp like this".

Mark and Johnny will have ample support to cheer them on in their efforts to take the titles back to Dungannon, with a bus of supporters already fully booked and residents in Wishaw formerly from Dungannon all preparing to roar them on to glory.
