COOKSTOWN boxer Craig Bigger has been crowned Dutch champion at his weight.
It was the culmination of a whirlwind few days for the young star as he only found out last Tuesday night he was to take part in the competition.
He was selected to box for an Irish Select team in the Dutch National Championships.
Holland has a policy that no boxer wins their championships on a walk-over so they bring in boxers from other countries to fill up the spaces which are left by non-entries at all weights.
Craig flew out on Friday along with his Coach Chalky Kelly and then weighed in on Saturday morning and prepared himself for the finals.
Shortly after 2pm Craig entered the ring.
The first round started with both boys feeling their way into the bout.
Midway through the round Bigger stepped forward and crashed a beautiful right cross onto his opponent's chin to put him on the deck for a count of eight.
The Dutch man rose on unsteady legs but managed to survive the rest of the round.
The second started off with Bigger going straight into the attack, taking the fight to his opponent, and he once again put his man on the deck. The referee took up the count and when the Dutchman rose to his feet the ref called the bout off, awarding the decision to young Bigger.
